Jon and I took a mini-vacation this weekend to visit his brother in Tahoe. Our route there took us through cities and forests and fields, through flat land and hilly land, and finally mountains. I’ll tell you about what we did in the mountains soon.
But for now, I’ll just say that there’s something I fiercely love about watching the land from the window of some fast-moving vehicle–watching the fields ripple and rise up, watching the forests sprout and thicken. I always feel like I’m watching some sort of history of the earth.
I like to roll my window down and start snapping pictures. I’m reckless–I take hundreds. I want to capture that movement, that feeling of moving faster than time.
